As an author, Joyce is motivated to give her readers what they need to be more efficient and effective leaders and businesspeople. Joyce’s first solo book, Experience Rules: How Positive Experiences Will Drive Profit Into The Future (Indie Books 2020), is a roadmap for organizations to be more successful by acknowledging and engaging all of their stakeholder groups, not just customers and employees. The book is the culmination of 40 years of her work in Marketing, Human Resources, and Future-Thinking. She is also the author of five business books, three best sellers, including the landmark books How to Become an Employer of Choice and Impending Crisis: Too Many Jobs, Too Few People.
Celebrity Futurist
Named one of the top women futurists in the world by FORBES Magazine, Joyce sees her role to help her clients to make better decisions now to achieve greater success in the future. She has been writing and speaking about the future for decades. Her Herman Trend Alert is read by over 30,000 people in 91 countries every week. It focuses on one important trend that Joyce sees emerging at that time. Joyce has covered the diverse topics from The Future of Medicine to The Future of Education to The Future of Leadership. She has appeared on national and local television over 70 times talking about the future and travel. Joyce served as the Vice Chair for the Association of Professional Futurists and is now a Board Member. During the COVID-19 Pandemic, her Herman Trend Alerts decoded many aspects of what was happening to give her readers hope and help in that extraordinary time.
Consultant
A Certified Management Consultant (CMC) and trusted advisor to management, Joyce’s consulting engagements have resulted in some remarkable results for her clients. One client was immortalized in the pages of Inc. Magazine when her work resulted in the reduction of employee turnover from over 300 percent to under 25 percent in fewer than 5 months in an industry that typically experienced over 150 percent turnover per year. Later, in less than 6 additional months, Joyce was able to help the client get to about 18 percent. Joyce’s style is direct and effectual as she works to provide her clients with step-by-step plans for moving from where they are now to where they want to be. Joyce also created the first Employee Retention Specialist Certification Program for The National Association of Personnel Services (NAPS), and she continues to offer that program to the public online. In 2020, Joyce was named an FIMC by the Institute of Management Consultants; this award is the equivalent of being inducted into The Consulting Hall of Fame.
Thought Leader
Throughout her career, Joyce has always been thought leader and innovator. Her new book Experience Rules forecasts rise of the Chief Experience Officer (CExO). Recently, Industry Week featured Joyce as one of the 3 futurists chosen to talk about The Future of Automation. In 2013, USA TODAY named Joyce their First Road Warrior of the Year. In the 1990s, she innovated the use of "club bulletins" in magazines. Joyce has served on numerous thought leader panels including for Revlon Cosmetics and The Human Capital Institute and currently serves on The Advisory Council for the learning platform INGOMU and is the podcast host and producer for the #Be More with Ingomu: The Future of Life, Work, and Wellness.
